Golden Boot campaign in Estonia

REC Estonia organized a Golden Boot campaign for the Estonian schools in 2006-2007. The idea has been taken from Surrey County, UK.

In order to prepare the campaign, an information event for the schools was organized in August 2006.

The participants got information about the main principles of sustainable transport and Golden Boot project. As a result of the event 51 schools all over Estonia registered to take part of the campaign.

In order to advertise the campaign and as a recognition to all participants a Golden Boot poster and Golden Boot stickers prepared.

During the campaign the schoolchildren were encouraged to choose another transport means instead of car on their way to school. The pupils were asked to observe their everyday transport use when going to school and map the dangers on their way. A special web page has been uploaded on http://www.recestonia.ee/kuldnesaabas/index.php. The school classes and groups entered their data onto this designed project web page.
